Managing Your Workspace Wallet

Wallet Creation

Every workspace automatically gets its own wallet when the workspace is created. This process:

  • Happens asynchronously in the background
  • Usually takes 1-2 minutes to complete
  • Requires no additional action from workspace owners

You don't need to manually create a workspace wallet - it's automatically provisioned with your workspace.

Accessing Wallet Information

To view your workspace wallet details:

  1. Navigate to your workspace settings
  2. Open the "Workspace Management" modal
  3. Find the wallet information in the designated section

Private Key Management

Downloading Private Keys

Only workspace owners can download the workspace wallet's private keys. To do so:

  1. Open the "Workspace Management" modal
  2. Locate the "Download Private Keys" button
  3. Click the button to initiate the download process
  4. Check your email for a 6-digit OTP (one-time password)
  5. Enter the OTP in the verification dialog
  6. Once verified, your keys will download in JSON format

Your workspace wallet's private keys provide complete access to the wallet and all its assets. Anyone with access to these keys can:

  • Transfer all workspace tokens and NFTs
  • Sign transactions on behalf of the workspace
  • Take irreversible actions with workspace assets

Never share your workspace wallet's private keys with anyone. Layer4 staff will never ask for your private keys.

Security Best Practices

When handling workspace wallet private keys:

  • Limit private key access to essential personnel only
  • Store the JSON file in a secure, encrypted location
  • Create secure backups in different physical locations
  • Never store keys in plain text or cloud storage
  • Never share keys via email or messaging apps

Private keys cannot be recovered if:

  • You lose access to them
  • They are overwritten
  • The workspace is deleted

Always ensure you have secure backups before taking any action that might affect the wallet.
